The Milton Police Department provides law enforcement services which provide safeguards for the citizens, visitors and customers to the City of Milton.
The department is responsible for enforcing all City of Milton Ordinances and West Virginia State Laws within the boundaries of the municipality. The services provided are patrol, investigations, traffic, special functions, drug work, school activities, and assistance to other surrounding agencies upon request.
The department has special duty units such as K-9 and Bike Patrol. The department also has a command vehicle which is used for major crash scenes and crime scenes. Due to the size of the department, every officer works each facet of these duties, with the exception of K-9.
The department is responsible for approximately 23 square miles of roadway within the City limits and 10 ½ miles on Interstate 64.
The department has also set a ground breaking move with its Neighborhood Watch Program. This program, unlike others, puts citizens in a marked watch vehicle to patrol as an extra set of eyes and ears within the community.
The department's goal is to serve the community with pride, professionalism, and integrity. And to ensure each resident and visitor feels safe and secure within the City limits and are able to carry on with a good quality of life within the community.
